PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element achieving both light extraction efficiency and storage properties by preventing an adverse effect of functional deterioration or the like caused due to impregnation of impurities remaining in a light scattering layer into an organic functional layer, and a method for manufacturing the organic electroluminescent element.SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescent element of the present invention is an organic electroluminescent element including, on a substrate, a light scattering layer and a light emitting unit having an organic functional layer held between a pair of electrodes. The organic electroluminescent element is provided with a cap layer for preventing a substance in the light scattering layer from diffusing into each constitutional layer on a side of the pair of electrodes, between the light scattering layer and the pair of electrodes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2a |
