PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular power system that starts a motor-generator with a charge voltage of a power storage section without requiring an increased allowable current of the motor-generator.SOLUTION: The vehicular power system includes: a motor-generator 1; a first power storage device 5 for supplying power to an on-vehicle load 6; a second power storage device 3 adapted to be charged with and discharged of power generated by the motor-generator 1; an inverter 2 connected between the motor-generator 1 and the second power storage device 3 to convert an AC voltage of the motor-generator 1 and a DC voltage of the second power storage device 3 bidirectionally; a DC/DC converter 4 connected between the first power storage device 5 and the second power storage device 3 to convert a DC voltage between the first power storage device 5 and the second power storage device 3; and connection control means for controlling the second power storage device 3. The second power storage device 3 has a plurality of power storage sections and a plurality of switches, and the connection control means controls on/off the plurality of switches to switch a connection state of the plurality of power storage sections when the motor-generator 1 is in operation. |
