1. A nucleic acid probe comprising:
an oligonucleotide having the structure 5′-Y1-L1-LQ1-L2-Y2-3′, wherein Y1 comprises a sequence of two or more DNA or RNA nucleotides; Y2 comprises a sequence of two or more DNA or RNA nucleotides; wherein one of Y1 and Y2 has a fluorophore covalently attached (directly or through a linker) to its nucleotide sequence, and the other of Y1 and Y2 has a second quencher covalently attached (directly or through a linker) to its nucleotide sequence; L1 and L2 are independently selected from a bond, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkyl, and substituted or unsubstituted heterocycloalkyl; and LQ1 is wherein Q1 is a first quencher having a structure selected from wherein Ra, Rb, and Rc are independently selected from substituted or unsubstituted aryl; and
L3 is selected from a bond, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted heteroalkyl, and substituted or unsubstituted heterocycloalkyl. |
