PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and method for improving performance such as signal to noise ratio (SNR) and a dynamic range of a camera using small pixels for use in a mobile camera or the like.SOLUTION: A first imaging device having first imaging characteristics and a second imaging device having second imaging characteristics are formed on a substrate. Images generated by the plurality of imaging devices are processed to obtain enhanced images compared to images captured by normal imaging devices. Each imaging device is configured with an optical element manufactured by using a wafer level optics (WLO) technology. In a camera array assembly 200, a wafer level optic 210 includes a plurality of lens elements 220.
