PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthopaedic surgical instrument including a patella drill guide and trial instrument, which can be used not only to perform a surgical trial for a patellofemoral joint but also to guide the surgeon in drilling a number of anchor holes in the patella of the patient.SOLUTION: A patella drill guide and trial instrument 14 includes a rear trial bearing surface configured to articulate with the condylar surface of an artificial femur component. The rear trial bearing surface has a curved peak surface which demarcates the rearmost surface of the patella drill guide and trial instrument. The patella drill guide and trial instrument also includes a front surface having a number of spikes which extend outside from there, and a number of drill guide holes which extend from the rear trial bearing surface to the front surface through the patella drill guide and trial instrument. |
