PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work machine of handheld work device capable of connecting drive shafts of various diameters and sectional shapes by a common connecting member and provide a method capable of easily removing the connecting member of the work machine connected to a drive shaft of the handheld work device.SOLUTION: A handheld work device 1 comprises a drive shaft 5 for transmitting power and a work machine 6. The work machine 6 comprises a work machine main body 13 and a connecting member 8. The connecting member 8 has a main body member 9 and a reduced diameter part 10 of which diameter can be reduced. The main body member 9 has a tapered hole 24 into which the drive shaft 5 is arranged. When the main body member 9 and a nut member 11 are fastened, the reduced diameter part 10 is pushed against the tapered hole 24 to reduce its diameter and closely contacted with the drive shaft 5 and integrally formed with it. In this case, the reduced diameter part 10 is also closely contacted with the main body member 9 of the connecting member 8. As a result, the work machine main body 13 and the drive shaft 5 are connected through the connecting member 8. |
