The present invention relates to a refrigerator, and a control method thereof. The present invention comprises: a cabinet having a storage chamber storing food; a sensor installed in the cabinet and sensing information of the inside of the refrigerator; a first conversion unit converting the information sensed by the sensor into data which can be transmitted by a light source; the light source radiating the light to blink depending on the data of the first conversion unit; a camera continuously capturing the light source; and a second conversion unit converting the information related to blinking captured by the camera into the data related to the sensor.
