PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation apparatus capable of suppressing weaving-through of an external additive at an initial stage of use where surface roughness of an image carrier surface is large.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus comprises: an image carrier in which a toner image is formed on the surface; a cleaning member which is arranged so as to contact the surface of the image carrier and performs cleaning of the surface of the image carrier; an electrification member which electrifies the image carrier; a bias application device; and a control part. The bias application device applies an electrification bias obtained by overlapping a DC bias with an AC bias to the electrification member. The control part controls the electrification bias applied to the electrification member from the bias application device. The control part sets the AC bias applied to the electrification member in a first period from the use start of the image carrier to the elapse of prescribed time as the first AC bias, and sets the AC bias in the second period subsequent to the first period as the second AC bias higher than the first AC bias.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
