The disclosure herein relates to high concentration strontium compounds. The high concentrations are achievable through the use of a specialized polymer. More specifically, the polymers form a three dimensional structure having a hydrophilic interior and hydrophobic exterior.

1. A topical formulation, comprising:
from 8 wt. % to 12 wt. % elemental strontium in a form of a strontium moiety; and from 0.5 wt. % to 1.5 wt. % of a polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 amphiphilic polymer, wherein the topical formulation has a pH of 2 to 5, and a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of about 9 to about 11, wherein the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance is defined as 20×Mh/M, where Mh is defined as a molecular mass of a hydrophilic portion of the polymer, and M defined as is a molecular mass of the polymer as a whole.
