PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink composition without bleeding, having excellent quick drying property and useful for ink jet recording, etc., by including a pigment, a resin emulsion and a water-soluble organic solvent and varying permeability more than a prescribed value. SOLUTION: This composition contains preferably 2-15 wt.% of a pigment such as at least titanium oxide, preferably 3-25 wt.% (solid concentration), of a resin emulsion such as polyacrylates and preferably 2-20 wt.% of a water- soluble organic solvent such as ethanol. A permeability after 100 sec of a mixed solution of a 2,000 times diluted aqueous solution of the ink composition with 1 mol/kg of an aqueous solution containing a polyvalent metallic salt such as Ca2+ in a weight ratio of 3/1 is varied >=2% to an initial permeability of the mixed solution. When a resin emulsion aqueous solution containing 0.1 wt.% solid concentration of polymer fine particles as a dispersing particle is mixed with a polyvalent metallic salt-containing aqueous solution, a weight ratio of the polyvalent metallic salt to the polymer fine particles is <=50 and an agglomerated material is preferably formed. |
