<p>An optical compensating sheet comprising a cellulose acetate film which comprises 100 parts by weight of cellulose acetate having a degree of acetylation of 59.0 to 61.5% and 0.01 to 20 parts by weight of an aromatic compound having at least two aromatic rings, characterized in that the cellulose acetate film has an Re retardation of 0 to 200 nm, an Rth retardation of 70 to 400 nm, and a thickness of 10 to 70 νm.
