PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide superconducting conductor which has an increased critical current value without lowering a critical temperature, and a method for manufacturing the oxide superconducting conductor.SOLUTION: An oxide superconducting conductor includes a substrate, an intermediate layer and an oxide superconducting layer which are formed on the substrate, and a protective layer, or a thin film layer and a protective layer which are formed on the oxide superconducting layer. At least one of the protective layer and the thin film layer contains an alkaline earth metal element, and the alkaline earth metal element is contained in a grain boundary of crystal grains of an oxide superconductor composing the oxide superconducting layer. |
