To set a sheet fed offset printing press between single- and multi-color printing, where a counter roller (2) is keyed against rotation, the setting system (1) acts as a belt brake with a brake belt (4) to act on the roller through a friction disk (3). The belt brake builds up a braking moment through the friction disk according to the direction of roller rotation. The brake belt builds up a braking moment on one direction of rotation (7) and blocks the roller, while releasing it in the other direction (8). One end of the belt is secured to an anchor (5) at the frame, and the other end is attached to a setting unit (6) in a force fit.
