PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head posture estimation device that estimates a head posture by following a change in the head posture when a head postural change takes place in a short time.SOLUTION: A nonvolatile storage device 2080 stores an offset vector composed of a relative position vector heading for a head reference position coordinate from a characteristic point and a head posture as a set with respect to the characteristic point extracted from a plurality of sample images different in the head posture from each other on the basis of a preliminarily defined characteristic point model as to each of a plurality of kinds of characteristic points within a face. A voting processing part 5610 performs voting processing to a three-dimensional position for which the relative position vector associated with a characteristic point extracted by characteristic extraction means heads from the characteristic point. A face position posture estimation part 5614 estimates a head reference position and the head posture with respect to a face within an input image on the basis of frequency of a voting result.
