<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method for achieving "zero emission" by resolving defects in a conventional membrane method, adsorption method or combustion method, and a cleaning method by further improving the adsorption method and separating/recovering volatile hydrocarbons from exhaust gas containing volatile hydrocarbons intermittently generating from a generation source, and reusing as high purity liquid hydrocarbon. <P>SOLUTION: In this cleaning method of exhaust gas containing volatile hydrocarbons, exhaust gas intermittently generating in a relatively small amount is made to continuously pass through an adsorbing tower 1 packed with activated carbon having adsorption pore diameters of 10-100Åduring the generation period of the exhaust gas, and the volatile hydrocarbons are stored in the adsorption tower 1. During this period, exhaust gas substantially containing no volatile hydrocarbons is discharged from an outlet of the adsorbing tower 1, while, during a stoppage period of the generation of the exhaust gas, the adsorption tower 1 storing a large amount of the volatile hydrocarbons is switched to a desorption operation, and the adsorbed volatile hydrocarbons are taken out of the system as concentrated volatile hydrocarbons. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
