PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents erasure of thin lines by screen processing, and excellently represent the image. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a C, M, Y separation transformation part 31 which separates color components of cyan, magenta, yellow for a thin line composing an input image, and transforms to dashed line data according to density of respective color components; a R, G, B separation transformation part 32 which separates color components of red, green, blue from overlapping condition of color components, and transforms to dashed line data according to density of the color components; and a composing part 33 which composes dashed line data of 7 colors of cyan, magenta, yellow, red, green and blue. Erasure of thin lines by the screen processing, is prevented by performing screen processing for dashed line data of 7 colors, and it is possible to excellently represent images.
