PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunction device system 10 capable of detecting an error caused by a transmission system connecting a scanner 20 and a printer 30. SOLUTION: The multifunction device system 10 includes a scanner 20 and a printer 30 for printing based on an image data read by the scanner 20, being interconnected through a data transmission cable 11. The multifunction device system 10 further includes a pattern generator 203 for outputting a predetermined test signal pattern to the data transmission cable 11, and a decision section 302 for deciding whether the signal received through the data transmission cable 11 is identical to the test signal pattern.
