PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a apparatus for controlling received sound volume for controlling the sound volume of a telephone set and automatically adjusting the sound volume of a speaker sound of the telephone set to be the sound volume that would be considered prefrable to the user. SOLUTION: The received sound volume control apparatus comprises an input means for continuously receiving a value given from the user at a speech; and a sound volume communication for discriminating the received sound volume, on the basis of the value obtained from the input means to adjust the received sound volume, and is principally characterized in that the telephone set automatically discriminates the sound volume considered congenial to the user and adjusts the sound volume; and even when the user does not know how to manually adjust the sound volume of the telephone set, the control apparatus can to advantage automatically obtain the preferred sound volume.
