It is intended to provide a plant and soybean containing arachidonic acid and a method of utilizing the same. By using a fat material plant which is obtained by using a method of producing a plant comprising the arachidonic acid production step of transferring a fatty acid synthase gene participating in the biosynthesis of arachidonic acid into a plant and thus making the plant to produce arachidonic acid, a plant or soybean containing arachidonic acid can be conveniently obtained.
