METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DATA TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION IN MIMO SYSTEM

A method for transmitting data in a transmitter of a multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: selecting an antenna to be used for transmission among a plurality of antennas based on transmission data; and transmitting the transmission data via the selected antenna. Additionally, in another embodiment, the transmitter for transmitting the data in the MIMO system comprises: an antenna part including one and more antennas for transmitting and receiving signals to and from a receiver; and a controller for selecting the antenna to be used for transmission among the one and more antennas based on the transmission antenna and controlling the antenna part to transmit the transmission data via the selected antenna. The method for transmitting and receiving the data according to the embodiment increases throughput in a MIMO communication system. Therefore a transceiver better in the aspect of complexity and performance as compared with traditional technology may be designed. So, the present invention increases the number of symbols to be transmitted at once by acquiring additional degree of freedom (DOF) rather than traditional communication technology. Moreover, the presented technology may be used under specific conditions and, also, may enhance additional performance even when being applied to a traditional MIMO communication system.
