摘要 <p>The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling driving and dimming of an alternating current light emitting diode (LED) capable of controlling light output of an alternating current LED light source part on the basis of whole lighting of LEDs. An apparatus for controlling driving and dimming of an alternating current LED includes: an input voltage receiving part for receiving an input voltage whose amplitude varies periodically depending on the time; a dimming control part which generates a dimming signal with a square wave signal having a width extended or reduced according to the altitude of a dimming level by adjusting the position of a raising edge and a falling edge of the square wave signal in a fixed width at both sides of a reference point of time, in which the square signal is for controlling the length of a light emitting time of an LED light source part comprising multiple LED groups according to the altitude of the dimming level and is generates at the reference time when the input voltage has a maximum value; and an LED light emission control part which controls driving and dimming of the LED light source part in order for the decrease of the number of LED groups emitting according as the number of LED groups increases or the amplitude of the input voltage decreases under the adjusted level, by applying a driving control signal restricting at least one of the input voltage, a driving voltage and a driving current according to the input voltage to the LED light source part in response to the dimming signal.</p>
