Use of oligosaccharides to stimulate beta-endorphin production

Use of at least one oligosaccharide comprising 2-6 sugars and containing at least 2 galactose groups, preferably side groups, and especially at the end of the chain, or such oligosaccharide- containing plant extract, as cosmetic or dermatological agent stimulating beta-endorphin production in skin. An independent claim is also included for the process of cosmetic treatment comprising application of at least one oligosaccharide as claimed or such oligosaccharide- containing plant extract, optionally in cosmetically acceptable excipient, onto relevant area of skin.
