PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and method, based on the account of combined alphabets and numerals. SOLUTION: The communication system and method facilitating a user to directly dial an account network-based telephone user with a combined alphabet and numeral account via a conventional telephone and computer is disclosed. The computer is provided with a set of predetermined alphabet and numeral code correspondence table. In addition, all the extended units coupled to the telephone constitute an exchange communication system, and the telephone in the different indoor place can directly call the network-based telephone.
