PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to sort received images only with code information such as F code when data are received by a facsimile using code information such as F code. SOLUTION: When image data are transmitted from a calling side facsimile communication apparatus 1, management information is put on code information such as F code, the code of a part of code information is delivered on a public network 2 as an identification code, and a called side facsimile apparatus 3 of the same destination performs selective sorting based on the received identification code. Since the identification code utilized for selecting the destination of sorting is a part of the code information, finer sorting is possible as compared with a case utilizing the code information.
