<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission device for transmitting propagation targeted signal (input signal Vin) of binary values in logic "H" and logic "L" states, from either a high-pressure system or a low-pressure system to the other, capable of suitably prolonging the lifetime of a photocoupler 30. <P>SOLUTION: The input signal Vin includes a pulse signal having a period shorter than the period in logic "H" and logic "L" of an output signal Vout which serves as a drive signal for driving an inverter. Specifically, the input signal Vin includes a single pulse signal for defining the rising edge of the output signal Vout and two pulse signals for defining the falling edge. The pulse signal of the input signal Vin causes the photocoupler 30 go into an ON-state, and the inverted signal V1 by the inverter 52 becomes equal to the input signal Vin.
