This broadcast receiver, which can receive two types of digital broadcasting services in which different media transport protocols are adopted, creates electronic program guide information on the basis of the respective event schedule information separated from the broadcast waves of each digital broadcasting service. If, while outputting program video information of a first digital broadcasting service, a command is inputted requesting display of an electronic program guide screen, then electronic program guide information is created on the basis of the event schedule information relating to at least the first digital broadcasting service and is outputted as video information; if, while outputting program video information of a second digital broadcasting service, a command is inputted requesting display of an electronic program guide screen, then electronic program guide information is created on the basis of the event schedule information relating to at least the second digital broadcasting service and is outputted as video information.
