PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for a nonaqueous secondary battery functional layer, which enables the formation of a functional layer superior in adhesiveness before and after electrolyte immersion, and enables the enhancement in life characteristic of a nonaqueous secondary battery.SOLUTION: A binder for a nonaqueous secondary battery functional layer includes a particulate polymer. The particulate polymer is a copolymer which includes 35 mass% or more of (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester monomer units, 20 mass% or more and 55 mass% or less of aromatic monovinyl monomer units, and 0.1 mass% or more and 5 mass% or less of epoxy/N-methylol based cross-linkable monomer units. In addition, the particulate polymer is over one to three times in the swelling index in a nonaqueous electrolyte.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
