A charging control device has a plurality of charging ports and sequentially charges electric vehicles connected to the respective charging ports. The charging control device determines whether the electric vehicles are connected to the respective charging ports or not, and calculates, for each of the charging ports to which the electric vehicles are determined to be connected, an estimated value Tc of the time required from the start of charging the electric vehicle connected to a charging port to the completion of the charging and an estimated value Tr of the time from the completion of charging an electric vehicle until the departure of the electric vehicle. When the electric vehicle that has been connected to a charging port in the last instance is defined as an N-th vehicle and the vehicles already connected to the charging ports are defined as first to N-1-th vehicles in the order of connection to the charging ports, charging of the N-th vehicle is started only when equation (4) is satisfied for all the first to N-1-th vehicles. After that, as soon as the charging of the N-th vehicle is completed, control is performed so that charging of a vehicle that was being charged immediately before the charging of the N-th vehicle is started is resumed. |
