A synchronous memory controller is able to convert an incoming physical address request relating to a given process, the request being sent from a digital component to a memory device via the controller. The same address that was used during the development of the software for that process is used by the component at run time because the controller is capable of mapping the incoming physical address request to the physical address required by the memory device for it to return the correct data for the process. |
