Diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease

A method of diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease comprises the step of determining an amount of at least one species in a body fluid or a tissue homogenate sample which has been obtained from a patient. The at least one species is selected from a group of species having molecular masses in a range of 3870 to 3895 Da (Abeta 1-34), 4520 to 4545 (Abeta 3-44), 4802 to 4836 Da (Abeta 2-46 or Abeta 1-45), 4837 to 4871 Da (Abeta 3-47) and 7720 to 7790 Da, respectively.
