PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data structure having superior compatibility for various kinds of information recording media. SOLUTION: In this storage medium 9, a user data recording region 303 and an intermediate region 301 are alternatively arranged and information used for synchronization matching is recorded in the intermediate region. Moreover, a special relationship has been established among starting positions of a post-amble and a specific wobble pattern, the recording start position of recording data and the writing end position of the preceding recording data in a recording unit.
