PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cartridge in which the movement of a brake member and the movement of a reel are regulated in a state where the reel can not rotate. SOLUTION: The reel 40 is energized downward by a compression coil spring 78 via the brake member 80. In other words, by the energizing force of the compression coil spring 78, the brake gear 82 of the brake member 80 is firmly engaged with an engaging gear 54 in a reel hub 42 to prevent unintended rotation of the reel 40. By the energizing force of a coil spring 58, a lock member 90 is energized radially outward from the center of an attaching part 60 (center of the reel 40), and the engaging part 96 of the lock member 90 is engaged with the upper edge part of the reel hub 42. In other words, an outside surface excluding the tapered surface 96A of the engaging part 96 presses the inner peripheral surface of the reel hub 42, an end part 92A located more radially outside than the engaging part 96 of a main body part 92 is interposed between the top surface of an upper flange 44 and the inner surface of a top board 14A, consequently rotation of the reel 40 is prevented and the movement of the reel 40 in radial and axial directions is regulated.
