<p>There are provided an information processing device, an information processing method, a program, and a data structure for processing a stream containing a basic stream and an extended stream of multiple stages. A transmission device encodes an audio stream to obtain a basic stream BS and first to n-th extended streams Ext1 to ExtN. Moreover, the transmission device references tables (90, 91) and generates TS packets (92 and 93-1 to 93-n) to which PID is attached according to each type of streams and TS packets (90, 91) of the table, which are transmitted to a reception device. The reception device references the TS packets (90, 91) of the table, judges whether the type of the streams can be processed by itself, thereby selecting a TS packet to which PID correlated to the stream that it can process is attached, and decodes it.
