PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a nano fluid having excellent thermal conductivity and forming metal nanoparticles in a form suitable for being used as a thermally conductive fluid in a liquid medium utilizing in-liquid plasma.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a nano fluid comprising: preparing an aqueous solution containing Au(III) ions and a cationic surfactant with a concentration of 1 to 10 Cprovided that a critical micelle concentration at 25°C is defined as Cand having a pH of 8 to 10; and generating plasma in the aqueous solution while retaining the temperature of the aqueous solution to 5 to 15°C, thus reducing the Au(III) ions to form Au nanoparticles.
