PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of restraining noise from leaking out to the outside of an indoor unit by mounting an expansion valve to a heat exchanger holder for fixing a heat exchanger of the indoor unit and a casing, and further disposing a sound insulation cover for insulating a refrigerant sound (noise) generated from the expansion valve. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner, the indoor unit is provided with the heat exchanger 2 and a blower which are included in the refrigerating cycle and disposed in an air passage connecting a suction opening and a blow-off port. The indoor unit includes a pair of right and left heat exchanger holders supporting the heat exchanger 2 from both ends. The expansion valve 6 for adjusting the flow of a refrigerant is provided at the back of one heat exchanger holder 3b. The heat exchanger holder 3b is provided with the sound insulation cover formed of a metal member to cover the expansion valve. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
