HYDROGEN GENERATION DEVICE AND FUEL CELL SYSTEM PROVIDED THEREWITH

A hydrogen generation device or a fuel cell system enables suppression of deterioration and destruction of respective portions of the hydrogen generation device due to thermal stress caused by repetition of operation and stop to thereby improve stabilities of the device and the system and increase the lives thereof. A hydrogen generation device (76) of a fuel cell system (100) is provided with a hydrogen generation device body (78) comprising therein a combustor (4) for burning a predetermined medium capable of generating hydrogen, and a plurality of pipes connected to the hydrogen generation device body (78) in order to cause the predetermined medium to flow into the hydrogen generation device body (78) or flow out from inside the hydrogen generation device body (78).  A temperature gradient is formed in the hydrogen generation device body (78) by the operation of the combustor (4), whereby a high-temperature region and a low-temperature region are formed in the hydrogen generation device body (78).  All of the plurality of pipes are disposed in the low-temperature region.  A support (70) supports the hydrogen generation device body (78) from outside the hydrogen generation device body (78) in the low-temperature region.
