detecting, at a first controller, a presence of a second controller in response to a first node being connected to a network; generating, at the first controller, a port number for the second controller; storing the port number for the second controller in a mapping table of the first controller; receiving an indication that an Internet Protocol address of the second controller has changed; and updating the mapping table with the changed Internet Protocol address of the second controller.
