PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step device for a platform having a retreat mechanism, capable of executing locking in an advance position of a movable step by a lock device of a simple structure, and operable when excessive force acts in the retreat direction on the movable step.SOLUTION: The movable step 4 is installed in a body 1 of the step device for a platform so as to be capable of advancing-retreating in the vehicle direction via a rail 5 and a guide 6. When the movable step 4 exists in the advance position, a latch 9 is locked by the lock device 7, and is locked so as to be immovable even if retreat directional force acts on the movable step 4. The latch 9 is installed on a movable base 12, and one end of a relief rod 15 of the retreat mechanism 14 installed on the movable base 12 is fixed to the movable base 4. When the excessive force acts in the retreat direction on the movable step 4 by the unexpected situation in this state, the retreat mechanism 14 operates, and the movable step 4 moves-retreats in the retreat direction. |
