<p>The mounting journal (40) joined to the machine side of the collar (48) comprises at least one short cone (41), a guide part (42) and an advance bolt (44) with a counter-bearing (45). The collar provides a flat surface (47) of the journal. The tool mounting (4) has surfaces used to position it in the machine, as well as having a device for actuating the advance bolt. At least one cutting tool is mounted in the machine using at least one mounting temporarily positionable on the machine and at least one tool adapter temporarily held inside the mounting, the latter comprising a journal and a sleeve (4b) which have a common collar. The adapter also has a journal and an opposing locating region on the tool side, which are connected and spaced apart by a collar.
