PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which can significantly enhance the battery service time, while ensuring a backlight which is bright and easily to see, and is suitable for a mobile purpose, and to provide a television receiver, an image display control method and an image display control processing program. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a broadcast content detecting unit 165 for detecting an EPG contained in program adding information; an operating unit 166 for allowing the user to set a program to be viewed or backlight control mode; and a display control unit 167 for controlling at least any one of the backlight luminance, spatial resolution of liquid crystal drive, and temporal resolution, on the basis of a viewing reservation program which has been set. The unit 167 controls the luminance of the backlight 110 of a liquid crystal panel 100 or the liquid crystal drive of the liquid crystal panel 100, on the basis of viewing reservation program which has been set.
