PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM-TA (terminal adapter) capable of stably transmitting audio by eliminating discard of audio data even when a large amount of data is sent and received. SOLUTION: The ATM-TA 1 which performs inter-LAN communication through an ATM network 2 is equipped with a data-side port DTEP 1 which accommodates a data system PC6 through a router 4 and an audio-side port DTEP 2 which accommodates a telephone set 8 through VoIPG/W7; and the ports DTEP1 and DTEP2 are made usable at the same time and VCs of the ATM network 2 are allocated corresponding to the respective ports.
