PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device whereby another television broadcast receiver can display a video image of a television broadcast viewed on the mobile terminal without the need for complicated operations. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal 50 includes: a tuner 5 for receiving a television broadcast; a wireless section 3 for transmitting/receiving a communication signal to/from a base station; and a first display section 12 for displaying a video image on the basis of a television broadcast received by the tuner 5 and/or a television broadcast included in the communication signal received by the wireless section 3. It further includes: a second memory 17 for storing remote control data used for remotely controlling a liquid crystal television receiver 56 and channel data including broadcast station information of the television broadcast receptible by the tuner 5 and the wireless section 3; and a main control section 24 for generating a remote control signal for instructing the liquid crystal television receiver 56 to select a broadcast station corresponding to the video image displayed by the first display section 12 on the basis of the remote control data and the channel data and transmitting the remote control signal via an optical communication section 21.
