PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of a conductive substrate capable of cleaning the conductive substrate at a high degree and an electrophotographic photoreceptor produced by using such substrate, a process cartridge and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The treatment method of the conductive substrate to be made into the electrophotographic photoreceptor by being formed with a photosensitive layer is provided with a process of bringing an aqueous treating liquid containing air bubbles of 0.1 to 100μm in area average diameter into contact with the surface of the conductive substrate.
