A ring seal for spherical exhaust-pipe joints which has a sliding, inner or outer, circumferential surface for enabling the spherical exhaust-pipe joints to move. The ring seal for spherical exhaust-pipe joints is characterized in that it comprises an annular mesh structure made of a compression wire mesh and a heat-resistant sealing material compressed so as to be united with the compression wire mesh, and that at least that part of the compression wire mesh which is exposed on the sliding surface is coated with a deposit formed by plating and containing particles dispersed therein, the particles being at least one member selected from the group consisting of fluororesin particles, boron nitride particles, molybdenum disulfide particles, and silicon carbide particles. |
