A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to simplify circuit configuration of the plasma display device by removing a high voltage set-up voltage source from a PDP. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel,100), a sustain driver(124), and a scan driver(123). The PDP includes scan and sustain electrodes. The sustain driver applies a negative set-up pulse to the sustain electrodes during a reset period. The sustain driver alternately applies negative and positive sustain pulses to the sustain electrodes during a sustain period. The scan driver applies a positive set-up voltage pulse to the scan electrode during the reset period. The scan driver applies the scan pulse to the scan electrode during the address period.
