PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closing damper for an overhang sliding door attaining a finger pinch preventing or rebound preventing function and a sliding door bracing function applicable to an existing overhang sliding door by providing the lower end side of the sliding door with a damper, and providing the floor side with a trigger bolt for controlling the damper. SOLUTION: A guide groove comprising a horizontal groove and a vertical groove and connecting both grooves by a groove of round curve shape is formed in a casing mounted to the lower end side of the sliding door, and guide pins provided at two parts of a cam plate having a first claw piece and a second claw piece at a lower part are inserted in the guide groove so that the cam plate is guided by the guide groove to tilt or linearly move in a horizontal direction. A piston rod of a damper mechanism which brakes the movement of the cam plate is bent in U-shape to connect its tip to the cam plate, and the floor side is provided with a trigger device having the trigger bolt which abuts on the first claw piece of the cam plate to place two guide pins of the cam plate in a horizontal state and to guide a groove formed at the lower end of the sliding door.
