BUTTON-SELECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD BASED ON CONTINUOUS TRAJECTORIES OF POINTER

A button-selection apparatus based on continuous trajectories of a pointer and a method thereof are provided to increase a button selection speed and prevent the button, which is displaced from a normal position due to hand tremor, from being selected. A display unit(150) display a keyboard which includes plural buttons, and a selection unit(130) selects the buttons, at which button selection operation occurs, sequentially based on the analyzed result of continuous trajectories of a pointer which moves on the keyboard. An analyzing unit(120) detects the sort of button selection operation and the input frequency of the button selection operation by analyzing the continuous trajectories of the pointer. A sampling unit(121) samples the continuous trajectories of the pointer by unit length, and a converting unit(122) converts the sampled continuous trajectories into plural directional vectors.
