PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting fixture in which, when a socket cover is removed to perform the work, there is no need of placing the socket cover at the other place once or performing the work while keeping the socket cover in worker's hands, and, moreover, the socket cover is never damaged by drop. SOLUTION: The lighting fixture comprises: a fixture body 1; a socket 31 on which a lamp 2 provided at the fixture body 1 is mounted; and the socket cover 4 fixed to the fixture body 1 so as to cover at least the socket 31. A fixing means 5 is provided at the socket cover 4 and the fixture body 1 to fix the socket cover 4 to the fixture body 1, and a temporary retaining means 6 is provided to hang the socket cover 4 from the fixture body 1 and retain it temporarily with the socket cover 4 moved downward by releasing the state fixed by the fixing means 5.
