PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly prevent the behavior of a vehicle from being abruptly changed due to mode selection during the traveling and steering of a vehicle while allowing the mode change during the traveling and steering of the vehicle. SOLUTION: This steering control device comprises a steering mode changing means for changing the steering mode of a steering means and a mode transition timing control means for controlling the steering angle during the mode transition during the traveling and steering of the vehicle when the steering mode of the steering means is changed over from a front wheel steering mode to the front/rear wheel same phase steering mode by the steering mode changing means. The mode transition timing control means sets the quantity of a change of the steering angle of a rear wheel according to the ratio of a front wheel steering angle to a rear wheel steering angle.
