PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steer-by-wire type steering system using a transmission ratio variable device and a power steering device in such a form that suitable operation reaction force torque can be given to a steering wheel. SOLUTION: The vehicular steering device performs steering reaction force control by the transmission ratio variable device and performs steering angle control by the power steering device when an abnormality is not detected at either of the transmission ratio variable device and the power steering device. Further, when the abnormality is detected at the transmission ratio variable device in a circumstance that the abnormality is not detected at the power steering device, a transmission ratio variable mechanism of the transmission ratio variable device is locked, and the control of the power steering device is gradually transferred from the steering angle control to torque control.
